Description

Cave Wall is a large east-facing crag with a shallow cave on the left side. It lies directly above the Burnt River Canyon road. Belay stances are reasonably comfortable. There’s a topo on boiseclimbs.com for three of the Cave Wall routes.

Getting There

Cave Wall and Riverside Crag are on opposite sides of Burnt River from each other, about 1.5 miles upstream from French Gulch. Cave Wall is above the road across from a convenient parking pullout. Scramble up the steep gully to the base of the wall. It takes about 5 minutes.
