Description Suggest change

The north side of Sundance mountain holds several easily accessed snow couloirs, suitable for training, running laps, or just a short and fun day out.

Getting There Suggest change

Drive up US Highway 34 as it goes over Trail Ridge Road. Park at one of the pullouts close to the peak. A 300 foot-gain with an easy hike leads to the summit and the top of the routes, where you can scope out cornices, etc. before heading down into the north side basin.

To descend, take the easiest couloir down (~700 foot descent) or hike about a quarter-half mile to the east to find easy snow and/or talus slopes that lead down.
