Description Suggest change

This limestone cliff is located about 3.5 miles east of Hadiboh and roughly one mile west of the port of Socotra. The mountain that the cliff is located on is named Jebel Shoq. The name comes from the area being the market (souk) in ancient times.

The cliff generally faces north and overlooks the ocean. In mid-March, the cliff is in the shade until about 11am.

The routes that were developed here in March 2023 are on the right (closest to the city) end of the cliff. At the base of the cliff is an obvious cave. This cave has two holes; the left hole has a stone wall and the right hole is adjacent to the base of an obvious dihedral (the line of From Souk to Nuts).

Getting There Suggest change

Drive about 3.5 miles east of Hadiboh on the coastal road and the mountain and cliff will be on the right (south). Pull off the road roughly one mile west of the port of Socotra and hike about 15 minutes up the slope to reach the base of the cliff.
