Description

Do you want to climb a ton of moderates all next to each other? Is Arginonta Valley super crowded and you want to get some seclusion? Need a good first day crag? Want to be in the shade? If you answered yes to any of those question go to Black Buddha.

Shade between 10am and 4pm. 20ish moderate routes between 5.8 and 10c.

Pleasant, closely bolted, and plentiful routes in a moderate grade. Nice belay areas.

The wall might look wet but that's just the color of the black rock.

Getting There

From Arginonta Village turn right after passing the Bee Shop, turn right before a small white bench. There's a church on the left and it's just past Teo Taverna. Continue on and at the back of the lot a road narrows for about 200m before turning to dirt. Park in a clearing. If you have a car, don't park under trees because goats will jump on top of your car to eat the leaves and that damages the car.

Look at the approach picture. It's the same parking lot for Arginonta Valley (Alani, Diagoras, Rock Tragos). Walk back towards the road 100ft to a 3 way intersection. There's an unfinished house on the right and a dirt road over a small bump on the left.

Take a dirt road up the hill slightly right, then turn left to continue up the hill. At the next bend, go straight into a trail marked with a cairn. Pass a rusted gate and go right into a gulley. Go up the gulley until a break in the gulley. Do not go left (ignore the red arrow pointing left) here and instead continue up the gulley 20ft until you can turn right at a cairn. Then follow the switchbacks up and right to the crag.
