Description
Sector Long Island is beautiful 60 meter tall, south east facing portion of the main limestone wall at Cikola Canyon. Most of the routes here are long so bring an 80 meter rope and use a stopper knot. As of 2022 there were 8 routes (2 multi-pitch) with grades that range from 6a to 7a. The style is generally vertical face climbing on excellent rock with unique holds. This portion of the cliff is very featured with cracks, pockets, flakes, inside corners and small roof formations. The climbing season is best in spring and fall yet possible year round depending on weather conditions and cloud cover. This sector is mostly sheltered with a potential light breeze on windy days. One can expect more traffic on the weekends and holidays with a pleasantly quiet setting during weekdays.
