Getting There Suggest change

There are several possible approaches.

Here is one: Drive Coldstream Road until the tunnel that goes under the train tracks. Park nearby. Follow the train tracks east until you see the Railroad Boulder. Cut up the hill. Follow the mountain bike trail switchbacks until you get to the top of the hill. At this point, you’ll intersect a dirt road. Follow the dirt road uphill and keep walking past a clear-cut section. Once you are back in the woods, start looking to your right and you’ll Castle Boulder on top of another steep hill.

Plan for at least 20 minutes of mostly uphill hiking. Alternatively, you can bike to the boulder since the approach is mostly on trails and roads.
