Description
The climbing areas near the Lady Moon Trailhead are some of the most obvious roadside features in Red Feather Lakes. Comprised of Lady Moon Trailhead, Mt. Margaret Trailhead, and Parvin Lake, these areas have climbing history reaching back to at least the mid-'90s. Bouldering is the main draw, but Parvin Lake has several nice trad and sport routes too. The hardest established sport route to date lies here too, Marilyn Monroe, 13d, established by Chuck Fryberger.
Getting There
From Livermore, head west on the Red Feather Lakes Road (CR 74E) for approximately 20 miles to reach Lady Moon Trailhead on the south side of the road. Mt. Margaret is just across the street, and Parvin Lake is a mile farther west on CR 74E.
Access note: Parvin Lake is managed by the DOW, not the NF. Please follow all rules and regulations when visiting Parvin Lake.
