Description Suggest change

This incredible chunk of stone is quite literally the only free standing boulder in the entire upper valley, and the pink rock of the north overhang is some of the best in CO. Complete with insane alpine scenery, it’s a perfect place to hang.

Getting There Suggest change

From Upper Chinns Lake, follow a faint trail above the lake’s right side as it trends uphill to the pristine Slater Lake. Staying just to the left of the rocky waterfall that flows into Slater Lake, hike up the grassy hump to level out in the giant meadow. Making sure to stay on this hump right in between the waterfall and the ditch on the left ensures minimal bushwhacking. From here, Boulder #4 will be visible in the distance. Negotiate the maze of bushes as you approach the boulder which rests proudly on a small bench.
