Description
This is an amazing wall! It's sheer, overhanging, quite wide, and absolutely bursting with difficult routes.
The wall is quartzite, and faces southwest, so always shady. The style is mostly face climbing, and varies from very overhanging to gently overhanging. The holds are incredible, though, from incut edges to crystal intrusions.
The wall is privately owned by climbers and climbing is allowed.
First-time visitors may have difficulty identifying specific routes. One of the most obvious is Arco, as it ascends the prominent (and only) giant, left-facing flake and is also the easiest route here.
The area was featured in a photo essay by Jon Novak in Climbing Magazine (Special Annual Ascent Edition, 2022, #382).
Getting There
Make your way towards Milho Verde, the bouldering mecca. Just before you get to the town of Três Barras, look for a dirt road and gate on the right. This is located on R Bela Vista exactly 1.5km southeast from the bridge in Três Barras.
It is here: goo.gl/maps/axCacYxkpzMVt7yZ6
Either park on the main road, or open the gate and drive about 100m on a rough road to a tight parking area (room for 4 cars, assuming everybody squeezes). From here, follow a path with cairns into a drainage area with a dipping hole. Continue up the drainage until you can switchback up the steep slope on your left to the slabs beneath the cliff.
