Description
Bailey Boulder could be the best boulder in Texas north of Hueco Tanks with some of the most solid limestone around. Jim Day, Clay Terry, and I spent a little over a month cleaning the top of the boulder. Removing trees and roots revealed huge choss boulders we used to make the benches around the crag. Bailey Boulder lays in perfect shade year-round from the large cottonwoods and oaks in the hollow, the wind drifts off the river and makes this the ideal crag in 100º temperatures. We have installed a rope on the East nose of the boulder for down climbing as it's around ~25ft at its highest point and ~20 ft at the downclimb rope.
