Description
There is some bouldering within Hamm Creek Park. The park is best used to access federal land downstream.
**Please read and consider the following to prevent from hurting yourself and getting this area closed**
You are a member of a community with very few outdoor climbing options. There has already been a climber (in fall of 2021) who got lost and spent the night in the woods, then trespassed and needed a ride back to the park. This incident raised safety concerns with the park staff.
Climbing here is relatively chossy, while some areas are much more solid, due to more traffic, holds are likely to break.
The fall zone for most climbing here is narrow, this led to safety concerns and the decision to bolt routes many people think should be boulders. Even the climbing legends at The Burn had bolted 2 bolt routes in areas where a small fall zone was a concern so please don't harass the bolters.
A bad fall in this terrain could result in serious injury.
The hike out is 30 minutes for an able-bodied person
Have a contingency plan for getting home safely in the event of injury (which doesn't involve calling 911 unless necessary)
Getting There
Walk downstream using either the high trail or walk along the river. These trails allow access to the valleys and walls downstream.
High trail with the orange tape starts at 32.176127,-97.480055. This should lead you to the sport routes. Don't follow the river if the water level is above 525 ft
