Description

This is a generally sunny, west-facing boulder at the north end of the west side of the massive Sheep Nose boulderfield apron. Currently there is one established line, but additional very hard projects could potentially be a thing.

Getting There

From the Sheep Nose parking, follow the trail up the wash and right towards the formation, trending uphill, and eventually left around the base of Sheep Nose in its massive boulderfield. About 10 to 15 minutes of hiking will get you to the Grill / Fire Pit Boulder, and another 5 minutes or less will get you to the Air Jordan Boulder. From the Air Jordan Boulder, follow cairns uphill first towards Hail to the Thief, a tall, crimp face of somewhat crystally patina with distinctive "X"-shaped cracks through its face. Shortly below Hail to the Thief, follow cairns left uphill and across the hillside. Eventually you will see the overhanging face of "2+2=5" facing downhill/west under the edge of the Sheep Nose dome proper. It's a bit of a trek, but the trail is improving, and it is well worth the journey. Many moderates dot the hillside on the way, and who knows, maybe another gem is hiding in plain sight nearby?
