Description
On the ravine floor is a short face that runs along much of the creekside on the south. Entering the ravine from the mouth of the creek, it is about halfway up the ravine. Yellowknifers call the area the "ice caves". Most winters, two distinct routes form up and are about 15' tall, but the amount of ice varies by winter.
Getting There
The easiest way to access the area in the winter is to park on Niven just down from the townhouses/condos. There's a small strip of public land that accesses Back Bay between the large houses on one end of Niven and the townhomes on the other. Walk down this and go left until the mouth of the creek and follow the well-broken trail in.
