Description
Cavern Rock Park is comprised of 30+ acres of conservation land owned by the Town of Weymouth. It overlooks Whitman Pond and straddles many of Weymouth's old quarries.
There is an 20 foot chasm as well as mutiple rock faces within 100 yards of the parking area. There are also a few erratics spread throughout the park. A 0.7 mile trail loop (white markers) will be your guide.
Getting There
The park is open dawn to dusk. there are three parking spots at the trailhead. You can double park to feasibly make six parking spots. The local neighbors are friendly, but they are within earshot of the climbing. PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THIS AREA
The GPS location for Cavern Rock Park (Weymouth) is largely accurate. If confused, use 173 Westminster, weymouth (which is the house next door to the trailhead).
From Boston, take I-93 South to Route 3 South. Exit 38A to MA-18N / Main St (Weymouth). Take the first right onto Winter Street. Follow it 0.75 miles to the end. Take a quick left on Middle St. then an immediate right on Washington. Follow it 0.5 miles, and make a left on Westminster. The park and parking area will be about 400 yards in, up a steep hill on your right.
