Description

300ft tower. Descent by rappelling via the "West Face" route (2 ropes recommended).

Getting There

Take the trail from the upper climber's camp down and across Forest Service Road 850 then follow the Lookout Ridge Trail to just before the top of the Panorama Point knoll. Near the top keep an eye out for a trail on the left that takes you out onto Panorama Point where you will see Rabbit Ears near by to the south. Relocate the side trail and follow it down the backside (left side) of Panorama Point and around its base then dropping down on a slight ridge to the upper North Ear saddle. From here scramble down around the right side of the North Ear into the lower cleft between the North and South Ear where you will find the start of the West Face (5.8) up the S. Ear.
