Warning Access Issue: Large logging vehicles have to be able to access the gate, so be careful where you park. Do not block the gate, and don't drive through it if it is open. DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

Howe Crag has two walls with mainly traditional routes. Of the dozen+ climbs, most of them have tree or gear anchors with only a few that have ring anchors. To access the top there is a path to the righthand side of the cliff. This crag seems to have a little more wind then its neighbor, Columbus wall, so there are fewer bugs.

Like most of the Halifax area you can expect sticky (sharp) granite at this crag.

Getting There Suggest change

Head out to Musquoduboit via Highway 107. At the end of the highway turn right onto Highway 7. Drive until you see a train museum on your left and take the next left turn onto the 357. Follow the 357 for 7.6 km to a dirt logging road on your left. Park in order to hike up this road, but do not block the gate (see access issue).
Start hiking up the logging road for 2.7 KM until you see the obvious cliff that is only a few meters too your right...the hike should take about 34 mins.
