HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).
Description
This zone describes the gulley above Pirate Wall which falls on the descent to Gift of the Wind Gods. This area is home to the mega roof crack "Put Up Your Dukes" as well as potential for the adventurous type. These walls never see sun and are sheltered from wind making a good option for warmer weather and when the winds are howling. Expect a 1-1.5 hour approach. The rock here is similar in nature to Challenger Wall and Jet Stream Wall
Getting There
This area is most easily described as the descent gully to Gift of the Winds Gods. Follow the south fork of oak creek up the descent for Mt Wilson. Eventually you will turn left toward the descent of Cactus Flower Tower and toward the approach to Pirate Wall where as the Mt. Wilson descent will continue straight. You are aiming for a dark red bowl below some impressive tan corners. Cairns mostly mark the way. GPS data in map.
