Description Suggest change

Legend has it, if your ambitious enough to get here, this is where you can find a few of the most solitary, gorgeous boulders in Appalachia. It would be wild to find another person within sight or earshot. There is no building, road, or powerline within sight. Your in a highland bald, so no trees to obstruct your view of all of Appalachia. Just you, some boulders that look like their straight out of The Highlander, and the awe-inspiring views that surround (and probably a bunch of ponies).

There are only two or three boulders here, but they have several fun ones to offer an intrepid climber.

Getting There Suggest change

Drive up to Scales. Hike south away from camp along the Scales Trail (not the Wilson Creek Trail, VHST, Peak Trails, Appalachian Trail North or South or Crest Trail). You will pass through the first stand of trees and then you will hand a left onto the Bearpen Trail. Walk up to the first set of boulders just off of the trail (Scales Boulders) and then continue up through the meadow to the blocks at the top of the ridge (Legend Boulders).
