Description
The Solarium wall is home to the most starred routes in the Weir Dam Area. It begins as soon as you pass the Monkey belay boulder and step back onto the skirt of the wall. There is a section of climbs followed by section of low angle rock that is not bolted, before it gets to Sun Dog 5.10+ one of the classics of the area. Eleven climbs back to back before the cliff band breaks up into a drainage.
Getting There
See Weir Dam Area overview topo. Walk past Tomahawk and step right around two boulders near the edge and walk to the end of Warrior Wall until you see the first steel traverse cable. The traverse cables are meant to be used as a back up with a PAS and a harness to protect the exposed cat walk. There is one steel cable followed by one static rope fixed in January 2021. Pass the Arch and continue through the trail that cuts through the brushy boulder field, past the Monkey Wall belay boulder to the skirt of the solarium wall.
