Description

Contintenal Ranch is on the Pecos Rivers and offers 115+ outstanding limestone sport routes. The property accesses 17 miles of wild riverfront with little shade other that the local scrub brush, so prepare accordingly.

The watersheds of the Devil's, Rio Grande, and Pecos Rivers have more potential for amazing and tall limestone climbing that anywhere else in the state. However, due to the remote location these unspoiled stretches are often hard to access.

Getting There

Private property. Climbing by reservation only. Visitpecosriverrockclimbing.com for access details and information.

See the topos for route locations and grades. All of this information and much more is available on the website, including directions to the ranch, climbing locations, and campsite locations.

To set up a trip, call the ranch owner to say when you are coming. Then simply drive to the ranch and pay at the self service kiosk. Fill out the sign in sheet upon entering and when you leave. It's that simple.

Please respect the landowner, Howard, and pay for all parties attending. The camp area is remote, with no cell coverage. Consider going in at least two vehicles and make sure you have a good spare tire. The limestone roads can be tough on tires.

The swimming and kayaking is excellent! Aug 15, 2008

Tim's comment is no longer applicable. The land is no longer open to individual climbers due to liability and hassle for the owners. However there will be 2 gatherings per year through OWA. owa.com/roundup/ Feb 28, 2018
