After the revolution in 2011, Tunisia became more open to rock climbing. Currently there is one climbing gym in Tunisia, ClimbIn, which is located in La Soukra. There is also a growing community of outdoor climbers.

At present (2022), there are two main areas to climb, both of which are easily accessed by car from Tunis:

  • Djebel Ressas: Just 30 minutes outside the capitol city, Djebel Ressas offers several crags with sport routes as well as a few high quality bouldering areas.
  • Zaghouan: The premier climbing destination in Tunisia. Thanks to a variety of equippers, both Tunisian and European, Zaghouan has over 100 routes including multipitch, trad, and sport. There is also some bouldering here.
