Access Issue: US Forest Service land. The north and west of Monjeau peak are in the White Mountain Wilderness.
Details
Before putting any hardware in, please be aware of if you are in the Wilderness and know Wilderness rules (No power tools etc.). Please work with the local climbers / US Forest Service before installing hardware. The current District ranger would like to be collaborated with before any permanent hardware is installed on the Smokey Bear Ranger District.
Getting There
Walk north from the Crest Trail parking area towards the Lower Deck wall. There is no trail to begin with, but a rough game trail becomes obvious if you stay at the same elevation as the parking lot - stay above the thick tree line and below any large rock formations and you should avoid any bushwhacking. Once at the Lower Deck, hike up and right to find an easy rock gully to access the Upper Deck, or stay left of the Lower Deck to bushwhack on more level ground.
