Description
The boulders of Beardsley are formed of coarse and weathered desert granite, which basically means that if you do enough bouldering here, you will achieve nearly indestructible tips. Of course that assumes that you stick with it through the early flapper and peeling fingertip skin phases on your transition from tendertip beginner to leather-tipped bouldering gorilla. Problems here are graded sort of old-skool, so they might feel hard for a given grade. Landings are usually not to bad on the more popular boulders, but problems can range up to 15' high, so a pad is probably a good idea.
Getting There
The main bouldering (and roped routes) area is approximately 0.3 mile to the northwest from the Lone Cactus Parking area. You can see it over on the hillside. The Egg Boulder, and the problems in that area are found about 0.25 miles to the south and a bit west near the terminus of 20th St.
