Description Suggest change

This is a collection of Gneiss cliffs not far from the Pissevache waterfall between La Balmaz and Mieville. The approach is short (15 minutes or less) and the descent is reasonable (either 20minutes down the couloir, or about 45 minutes following the road if conditions are slippery). The climbing itself is pretty good... most of the climbing is East-facing, so it can be hot in the summer. There are about 50 climbs spread across 4 sectors, with the majority being between 5 and 7 pitches long. There is some loose rock, but the climbing is generally of good quality, with lots of fun cracks, chimneys and steep face climbing with good holds.

Getting There Suggest change

If coming from Lausanne, head towards St. Maurice and take the cantonal road parallel to the highway. Past La Balmaz, and just before a clearly visible gas station, there is a gravel road heading up the hill on your right. Head up this and park at: 46.1508333, 7.0280555555555555. From there, follow the clearly visible climber's trail up to the cliff faces. Note that there can be nettles on the approach, so shorts may not be comfortable.
