Description
Large boulder with around 20 problems from Vb to V5. The boulder has been thoroughly cleaned at the base and most lines have excellent landings. Combined with an easy approach and a decent amount of tree shade, the boulder is a nice spot to hang out and get some volume in if you're in the area.
Getting There
Park at the new Bermgarten Trailhead parking lot off the end of Bermgarten Road. Instead of continuing up the obvious trail, walk back down the dirt drive and look for a trail on your right, about 15 feet off the dirt road you drove in on. This is the Donner Lake Rim Trail and you're likely to see a couple of marks on the trees for it. Continue east for a few minutes on the rim trail until you see a trail that forks left over some rock and downhill towards the power lines. If you use the correct trail, this will take you directly to the boulder nestled beneath the trees on the south side of the power line clearing. If not, you may need to walk up or down the power lines until you see it. Total approach should be no more than 5 minutes.
