Description
Four bolted routes, all relatively short (45 feet) and overhanging. Well bolted with no sketchy run-out, but the homemade hangers do not inspire confidence. The wall faces north and trees provide shade.
The four climbs on this wall are treated by Bolf and Ruef in their 2006 Falcon guide to Oregon rock climbing. Their grades for the climbs are, from left to right: (1) Slab 5.10c, (2) Dog Gone 5.11b, (3) Time Warp 5.11d, (4) If Clips Could Kill 5.11a. There is also a topo sketch on boiseclims.com that has these ratings L to R: (1) 5.10, (2) 5.11-, (3) 5.11, (4) 5.11.
Getting There
Park about a quarter mile upriver from the parking pullout for Cave Wall and Roadside Crag, which is about 1.5 miles up from the mouth of French Gulch along the Burnt River road. Hike up a very steep grassy slope toward a stand of Douglas-fir trees. The wall is behind the trees. There is no trail.
