Description

The Phantom Spire is the most prominent and recognizable landmark in Devil's Canyon. It is also one of the earliest features climbed here. On the wall between Devil's Gate Tower and The Phantom Spire are a number of climbed and unclimbed routes. Some of these continue to the top of the canyon (Vyasa). Other routes here must be rapped into and climbed out of (Kit Carson Crack). (Correction: Kit Carson Crack now goes ground up as of 6/2022). At this point, most all lines have been climbed here, though a small number remain unclimbed.

Getting There

Stay on the D3 trail on the East side of the canyon. Hike past Devil's Gate Tower, and soon you will see the Phantom Spire on your left. You can not miss this.
