The Frenchman Lake area and all climbing areas around it are currently closed due to wildfire as of 07/03/21. Due to the severity of the damage caused by the wildfire, this area is not projected to be open throughout 2021 and will probably be closed through the 2022 season due to dangers caused by falling trees logging activity and erosion.
Updates will be available when or if conditions change.

Description
A very nice cozy Trad climbing area that has a small creek running through the middle of it. There are Trad walls on the north and south side of the creek, and there is even another wall further back in the meadow with more potential. There are a couple of bolt anchors found on the North side of the grotto. but otherwise, there are plenty of cracks for cams.
Getting There
Driving on Frenchman's Lake Rd. you'll come to the Dam of the lake. Turn right over the Dam and continue on this road for about 1.25 miles. Just past the Spring Creek Campground will be a parking pull out on the left just before a Cattle guard(room for 5-6 cars). From the parking pull out cross the road towards the cattle guard but don't cross it. You should see the 1st cairn straight ahead 20' from the road on the Crest of the hill. There are 5 cairns following the left hand side of the wall guiding you into the Grotto from the pull out.
If you continue to drive past the cattle guard...On the south side of Frenchman Lake, you'll come across a dirt road turning to the right. This short dirt road dead ends on the backside of the grotto for a relatively easy scramble down.
