Description
The Top Shelf is an incredible rock climbing area just outside of Spearfish. It boasts well over a dozen routes that qualify as being short, bouldery, power-endurance test pieces. With a difficulty spectrum that falls between fine nine minus and five thirteen plus, many classics for their respective grades reside at this BRAND NEW and slightly hard to access hardman's crag.
Getting There
Let's just face facts, you're not going to climb here...unless a local invites you to hold their rope while they work the most difficult routes of their lives. A fifth class scramble, to a short wall - three hundred feet above the canyon floor - plus a spicy repel to exit, makes for an interesting session of climbing where the whole day is the crux.
