From 2016 Vancouver Island South Climbers' Guide: "Mt MacDonald has seen a lot of climbing in the past 40 years and now it sports over twenty great lines of moderate difficulty. Generally the rock is bomber, cracks about, and access has never been an issue."

Getting There Suggest change

From the main Mt Wells parking lot, continue South along Humpback road, past the one lane only section, until you see the pull-outs on both sides of the road. Park here, diagonally (it gets busy). Walk south along the road from the pull-out, until you see the trail on the right hand side near the park boundary. Go up through the forest; about 8 minutes later at the "Blair Witch" clearing, turn uphill for the Main Wall or stay left for the Cinema.
