Description
Mt. Arapit is a mountain in the Prokletije range in northern Albania. The south facing wall of the mountain rises about 800 meters from Theth valley, and it's one of the largest limestone walls in Europe. Rock climbing activity on Mt. Arapit seems to be infrequent, however there is at least one route on its south face named Raki on Arapit as documented in a summit-post article.
WARNING: In my experience the rock was very unstable and dangerous on Mt. Arapit. My climbing partner and I had a small accident that could have been more serious on the south face while we were climbing the Raki on Arapit route. On pitch 8 a fairly large block was dislodged when I was leading above my last protection piece. Fortunately the block didn't push me off the wall, but it did land on my right foot smashing my big toe right before bouncing off and almost hitting my partner below.
The rock is pretty unstable up there and we had pulled many holds off and small blocks prior to the eventual accident on pitch 8 of the Raki on Arapit route. Rock climbing on the south face of Mt. Arapit can be dangerous, and unless you have a lot of experience with chossy rock in Alpine environments, I personally discourage rock climbing on the south face.

Getting There
We rented an SUV from Tirana International Airport for our travels in Albania. If you rent a car make sure it's an SUV as many roads aren't paved and can be quite scary. A small car most likely would not make it all the way to Theth Valley.
Alternatively you can take a mini-bus from the airport to the city of Shkodra, and another one from Shkodra to Theth, but you have to ask around for details.
