Description
A fantastic (although very popular) area for some beginner friendly ice climbing. Flows form lines of WI2-3 (with sections of WI4 possible) and are top rope friendly with tree anchors and a bolted anchor as well.
Getting There
Park at the Grassi Lakes trail head parking lot and then continue walking South down the road past the signs prohibiting unauthorized vehicle traffic. Once at the end of the road by the hydro building look to your right (West) to see a well used trail up towards the flows. Follow it for ~3-5 minutes and you will arrive at the base of the Junkyards.
