Description/ area etiquette
Large limestone boulder and formations with 3 sport routes and plenty of potential for new routes. As of April 2019 all three routes have been rebolted with Titanium glue in bolts and are safe to climb. Some old hardware still exists on the rock. Do not use any of the obviously rusty and unsafe hardware. A safe bolt will be glued in and is stamped with titan climbing on the head of the bolt.
Etiquette: all routes now have Titan climbing titanium bolts and have been glued in exactly as prescribed by the manufacturer and are safe to climb on. Please keep in mind Titanium hardware is very costly and time consuming to place. If properly cared for these bolts will outlast generations. Please help by:
* Not placing steel hardware on any titanium hardware.
* Do not use any old hardware that may be found on the rock
* Do not top rope or lower off Titanium anchors. Top rope on your personal draws and rappel when finished. This will ensure the hardware is not worn through from rope friction causing the need for premature replacement.
* Respect the area and clean up after yourself
* Be an honorable ambassador to the sport
Getting There
From the main gate: head into base until the first round about and go left. Skirt the airfield for about five minutes heading north east until you see the sign for beaches. Turn left and continue following the signs for beaches. When you reach the parking lot, park at the most southern end. From there walk 2 minutes down the road that parallels the beach. You will reach the boulder on your left.
