Access Issue: PLACING BOLTS IS ILLEGAL IN THE SUPERSTITION WILDERNESS! Details

In the early '90's the USFS banned all placement of bolts in the Superstition Wilderness. This unfortunately includes replacement of existing bolts. Violating this ban may result in climbing restrictions on this beautiful area. Please think twice and go bolt somewhere else.

Description

A ‘short and squat’ spire just east of the Prong. There’s a nice 5.4 route on the south side to the summit, that makes for an easy add on if you’re in the area to climb The Hand or The Tower.

Getting There

Hike to the saddle between the Hand and the Tower via the Treasure Loop Trail and use trail. Continue east until the Pickle comes into view. To minimize bushwhacking, start heading upslope to the base using the rock slabs at a large boulder a bit beyond the Pickle.
