If you use chalk on the rock, brush it off when you are done. If you use tick marks, brush them off when you are done. Wipe your feet off prior to each climbing attempt. Excess chalk and any dirt, leaves, or mud can polish holds over time. Do not drag your pad from one climb to the next (in order to minimize erosion). And most importantly, Leave No Trace. Pick up your trash and place it in the trash cans at the trail head.
Description
Big Blocks are the huge blocks across from Sunset Wall. The routes here are organized as being on the "shady side" facing sunset wall or the "river side" facing the river. This area features several toprope climbs, a few quality leads, and a few boulder problems on the river side. The top of these Blocks can be accessed by leading up one of the protectable routes. The easiest access is via the Access Crack (5.2) on the NE side of the block near where the trail brings you in. There are a few trees on top that can be used to rappel from or set up toprope anchors. You might need as much as 50’ of webbing or static rope to set up some of the toprope climbs.
