Description
This area contains the greatest concentration of the first routes developed in the Park (early 90s). These routes are gradually being re-bolted, but old hardware is still safe for climbing. Wall gets late afternoon sun.
Getting There
There are two approaches:
- Climber Approach (10 minutes): *This approach is not suitable for kids and should be avoided if the ground is wet.* From the Stateline Overlook parking lot, walk downhill on the road. Across the road from the 702 road sign is the climber approach trailhead, marked by a silver trail marker. Head downhill through the rock crevice. At the end of the crevice, head slightly right, which will lead to a few trad routes that are part of Stateline Overlook. Continue downhill in the rocky drainage until you hit Prospectors Trail, marked by a silver trail marker. Climbs start climbers left.
- Trail Approach (25 minutes): Follow Geological Trail to Laurel Branch Trail to Prospector Trail (see park map).
