Description
Wilson Mountain Reservation is a super cool place with some potential. This place has not been heavily climbed and has potential for a lot of new routes. Some of this stuff still needs some cleaning, but most of the holds have been cleaned up. This area's rock is all granite and feels nice when you're on it. Parking is also completely free!
Wilson Mountain Reservation has 207 acres of wild and varied terrain. Large tangled thickets of rhododendrons grow on a hillside. Wilson Mountain is the highest point in Dedham at 295 feet. While not a true mountain, it does provide hilltop views of the surrounding area.
It is a very public area, so it is basically no problem when it comes to climbing. You may see a lot of hikers with dogs coming through there too, so if you're not a fan of dogs, you may want to be mindful of that.
Getting There
It is just off the highway of I-95 in Dedham. From there, you would take West Street to Common Street (these are basically the same streets), and then take a right when you see the Northeastern University field hockey field. This field is right next to the parking lot. Once you're there, you take the trail on the right that passes through a small stream, and after about a minute of walking, the first boulders will be in sight on a hill.
Note: the boulder locations are better described in their individual sections.
