Description

Cuccia is a smaller crag with a mostly modest grade range, a couple of two pitch routes, great rock and situation, and "tafonated conformations." Fun climbing in a great, high country location with easy access on well marked trails.

The area is a big chunk of rock right across the road from the dam on the Golo River (well upstream from the Lac de Calacuccia).

More than a couple dozen pitches from 4a to 7a on nicely sculpted rock. Good flat staging areas. Southern aspect.

Getting There

Right on the D84 between Corte (22km) and Calacuccia (4km).

There’s a couple of parking areas on the south side of the road above the dam.

Cross the street, go up the stairway, and, voila. There’s signs indicating the climbing area at the roadside.
