Access Issue: Partial closure due to flood damage Details

Description

A beautiful varied wall that gets shade from mid morning on during the season. Sits on the right side of North Echo at the lowest point of the cliff. Bulletproof rock, incredible chert, smooth blocky roofs, and interesting holds make for some amazing climbing. A fantastic crag for the 5.12 leader, with plenty of moderates as well; it's bound to be a popular place.

Getting There

Approach via the Cathedral Rock Trail. Not long after starting up the trail, there's a fork. To the right, a sign says it's .5 miles to Little Falls. To the left, there is no sign, just some stone steps. Take that path for about 15 minutes. Do not follow the instructions in the Jerry Handren book, which says to look for a wooden bench. You have to continue up the path until you reach a SECOND wooden bench. When you see the second bench, look 10' to your left for a small cluster of fir trees, which conceals the climbers' trail. Follow this for about 5 more minutes to its terminus: you've arrived at Sonar Wall.
