Description

A smallish semi-obscure mountain just outside of Keene that has a nice little cliff on its side. The access trail connects at the cliff with a beautiful orange crack that screams CLIMB ME.Get ready for tough climbing, the rock is usually smooth and very steep, the cracks often have smooth flaring sides making climbing tiring and insecure. The base area is ; wide smooth and spacious, and looks like the cliff gets little traffic.

Getting There

Drive the main highway through Keene (73), and turn onto Hurricane Rd If travelling from Lake Placid (north of Keene) its on the left.
Travel 3 km (1.8 miles) along Hurricane Road and look for a small red DEC trail marker on your left. Look carefully you may pass it first time. There is a widened shoulder that holds 3-5 cars 50 yards before the trail start.
Hike up the trail 10-12 min until you see a huge boulder with 3 cracks (private land without climbing ) , continue up trail 5 min until you see boulder with "cairn" in picture. There are signs on the trail but overgrown branches have mostly hidden them. Follow the faint trail 5 more mins until you see the cliff
