Description Suggest change

This quiet and shady crag offers several good quality and pumpy routes. Unlike many areas in Altmühltal, the routes here are quite overhanging and less technical. The routes range in difficulty from 5.9 to to 5.13a, but the emphasis is definitely on 5.11 to 5.12.
If you come here with kids and a babysitter, they have a great place to play right out of the car, since there is a playground in the parking lot. Also, they can watch the hang gliders and other flight fanatics take off from the platform. However, they're not even really within earshot, so if your babysitter also wants to climb, you could be walking back and forth quite a bit.

Getting There Suggest change

From Kelheim, drive towards Riedenburg and 1km after Prunn take a right up the hill towards "Hemau / Jachenhausen" and follow this road for 6km to Jachenhausen. Right after you pass the beginning of the town limits (indicated by the sign with the town's name) and before the lumber mill, take a left and follow the left branch to the parking lot with the playground and glider ramp visible.
Walk towards the ramp and before you reach the edge of the cliff head right until you see a gully. Follow this down and to the right to reach the crag. The hiking time is about 5 minutes or less.
