Description Suggest change

This is a province of New Brunswick protected natural wilderness area. As such it is closed to mining and forestry activity but open for recreation. It is a remote wilderness area that borders on the coast of the Bay of Fundy and part of the Caledonia Highlands containing mostly rhyolite rock on several long steep walls up to 600 feet in height. Most of the routes follow gullies that drain into the river. There are several waterfalls and lots of walls with seeping water. All this make for many established routes and potential for more.

Getting There Suggest change

Go to Sussex then head towards Poley Mountain on the Waterford Road. Stay on this road passing the ski hill and the small community of Cedar Camp. It becomes the Creek Road after you see a sign for Martin Head. Keep driving on the same road passing Walton Lake and Adairs Wilderness Lodge. About 1 k past Adairs you will come to an intersection. Turn left, then right onto the Fundy Trail Parkway access road. This road is not plowed in winter. If there is not much snow you should be able to continue in a vehicle with all wheel drive. If not you have about a 15 k ski or snowshoe ahead of you. Follow the same directions for accessing Walton Glen. That will get you close. From there you can get to the LSR but you will definitely need a topo map!
