Getting weather forecast...
DescriptionThis is a valley between Mulshi and Tamini ghat about 90 minutes drive from Pune. You have to hike down into the valley to access the climbing area. There are about 9-10 single pitch sport routes and 2 bolted multi-pitch routes. Rock is basalt and brittle, belayer should wear helmet at all times. A sixty meter rope should suffice. Best climbing season is November through February.
As you get to the climbing area, the left side wall has 10 routes which are listed here and the right side wall has 2 easy routes graded about 5.6, not listed here. November through February the left wall stays in shade all day. March, April temperatures keep rising but one can still climb here early mornings.
The two multi-piches are are further down the valley.
There is also a camping area a little further down, with clean drinking water source. To get to the camping area head further down along the obvious trail until you reach a crossing, this is the plus of the plus valley. From the crossing keep going straight until you reach a clearing with flat ground. Usually October through February there is running water near this spot which is perfectly drinkable. There might be snakes and other insects so bring a tent. Please respect the wildlife and the environment and leave no trace.
Getting ThereYou need a personal vehicle to get here. Drive along the Mulshi Road and go past Mulshi towards Tamini Ghat until you get to a lookout point with a shaded seating area. Here you'll find the trail to go down into the valley. Go all the way down until you reach the climbs. You should park your car a little way back (about 1km) at the farm of one of the villagers. The villagers only speak a local dialect of Marathi but are very friendly and courteous.
