Description
This is a fort, an hour drive from Pune. There are 9 or 10 short sport routes, at least one established trad route and more trad possibilities. Some of the bolted routes can be climbed purely on trad. Early mornings 6:30 to 10 or afternoons 14hrs onwards are best climbing times. Views are spectacular. Routes are technical and grades range from French 5b or YDS 5.8 to French 7b+ or YDS 5.12c. All routes can be climbed with a 50m rope. Weekdays are quiet but weekends and holidays can be very crowded. Rock is basalt like everywhere else in Maharashtra. Usually windy but sunny. This crag was developed by veteran climbers Vikas Satarkar, Bhushan Joshi and Michael Kropac and some new additions by Samiran Kolhe.
