Description

Ailefroide is popular access point to the Ecrins range as it is on the way to the Pre de Madame Carle trailhead and its extensive parking lot at the end of the upper valley. There are some shops and hotels here, a campground and a guide service office. Ailefroide is very busy during the Summer with hikers, climbers and tourists, but things quiet down during the off season.
