Access Issue: Must access from Valley of the Blind Details

The access to Deliverance used to be via private property from above the cliff, but that approach is no longer an option with the current land owner. Instead, bushwhack along the cliff line starting at Valley of the Blind.

Description

Deliverance can be seen when looking Southeast from Sam's Throne. The Giant boulder just below the cliff line is Squeal Like a Pig boulder. The first few routes face North (thus they remain wet for long periods) but the cliff band turns at the Squeal Like a Pig boulder to face more south.

Since it's a long bushwhack, and mostly trad lines, Deliverance is rarely visited.

Getting There

Approach as for Valley of the Blind (parking on the highway about a mile South of Sam's and joining the trail at the Pine tree painted with a white B). At the trail split, turn left over the slimy, wet slabs to head climber's right. At the start of the Grand Traverse, either drop down and back up under the dripping waterfall, or traverse under the alcove. Beyond the Grand Traverse, bushwhack up the hill to follow the cliff line (climbers right) for another 30ish minutes. The routes start behind the first large boulder. Reaching routes on the far side can take another 20 minutes.
