Description Suggest change

A relatively secluded spot though you can see South Church Wells not far away. The cap rock is surprisingly good quality for the Area thus temping you to make this a boulder problem rather than a roped climb. That being said, it is not much of a climb, more like an experience. The reason I undertook this solo experience was, and will be the same reason you do so, ie., to investigate the enigma on top. There is a hand made ring of rocks surrounding an alter like table with a fluid bowl dead center (see pic.s below). This is why I list the FA as unknown. So, here are my two admittedly outlandish theories:
1) Native test your bravery/ceremonial site.
2) Some cool grandpa on a nearby ranch invented a great scary story, then would get up there (how, I am not sure) to pour oil in the hole and light it up for a real Halloween whopper tale for the grand-kids. The pit would hold a couple liters and would make for an amazing torch for miles.

Getting There Suggest change

From the intersection of BLM 400 (Cottonwood Rd.) and 431 head north a few hundred meters and take your first right. Follow this for about a 1/2 kilometer to where there is a fork left or northeast. Park here and walk the ridge going under power lines. You will need to drop off and on the ridge but head for the obvious cairns on the ridge end. The tiny tower is unmistakable when you arrive.
