Description

Hemlock Knoll has the highest concentration of bouldering in the whole reservation. Development has begun, and the surrounding boulders have potential as well.

Getting There

Starting at the parking lot, take the red trail around Chickering pond until you find sign 4 (you may see sign 5, that is alright, just stay on the red trail). At sign 4, go on the yellow trail until you see a sign labeled Hemlock. See the picture of the map below for more details.

Been putting up many problems here with some friends. Most of the established boulders should be fairly clean, but they could definitely benefit from some traffic. Jan 1, 2019

How big are the boulders? It’s tough to tell from the pics. How does it compare to other spots in the region? I’ve never visited this park. Jan 1, 2019
Hey Tim, most of them are quite small. Hector's Cave, Hector's Big Brother and the Wide Mossy Slab are the bigger ones and definitely worth checking out; very fun movement on those problems. Fair amount of FA potential too. If you look at the photos, there's a person in most of them for size reference. However, the area overall is definitely small and there are better locations if you're willing to drive an hour in any direction. Jan 2, 2019
