Description
Home to many high school party goers and their abandoned beer cans, this cave also hosts one of the best problems at Morrison. You'll know you are there if you find yourself looking at a problem with an obvious, angling, slopey rail leading to some mild compression climbing up a shallow prow. This is Rupture. It is good.
Getting There
From the Warmup Traverse Area:
Scramble over the boulders on the far west side of the Warmup Traverse area, and look for a trail that wanders up the west side of the cliff band. If you find yourself looking up at Arrowhead Arete, just head about 20 or 30 feet further west to find the trail. Head up the hill for another 100 feet or so past Arrowhead until you find an opening on your left with a boulder about chest high to scramble over. Scramble on top of that boulder, and you should see the Rupture Cave right in front of you.
From the upper trail:
Follow the directions to Ice Truck Killer Cave where you can either take the tunnel underneath some boulders or scramble over some boulders to get to the Rupture Cave. I think the western approach is more enjoyable but less direct.
