Description Suggest change

So far five Trad routes (which could be Top-Roped) and
one bolted Sport route at left end of sector (difficulty is unknown).
Faces WSW.

Name: David Brower is most famous as a great environmental leader. Before that he was a great climber and backcountry skier. Grew up in Berkeley and was editor of U C Press in Berkeley during his climbing phase. Many First Ascents in the southern Sierra, and then led the hardest technical climb in USA, the ascent of Shiprock in New Mexico. Edited the first American textbook of ski mountaineeering, and in World War II joined the 10th Mountain Division of US Army ski troops, fought in the mountains of Italy and was awarded a Bronze Star.

. . (previous name "Rebuffat" was for Gaston Rebuffat, who pioneered some still-popular routes on granite. Perhaps more famous for writing books with photographs of climbing around Mont Blanc, which inspired many climbers around the world to come to Chamonix and climb the great + long granite routes.

warning: The rock in this sector has not been climbed much yet, and much of the rock is still breakable and loose -- so the belayer and other people should stand far away from underneath the climber.

Getting There Suggest change

Follow the instructions on the Rush area description page to reach sector 7 Hill. Then turn Left and walk N about 200 feet (at first a ways uphill) to reach this sector. (9-17 minutes)
